Model curation techniques for EA
How cleaning, navigating and validating your EA model makes sharing and collaborating much more effective.
Ian has been thinking deep thoughts again, this time about model curation.
As an online dictionary has it:
Curate verb (used with object), curated, curating.
- to take charge of (a museum) or organize (an art exhibit): to curate a photography show.
- to pull together, sift through, and select for presentation, as music or website content:
Or, as an SXSW panel suggested in March 2011:
No longer a job for tweedy paleontologists, arranging flint arrowheads by size, ... curation is a matter of speedy, selective contextualising. It’s more than merely aggregating content, it’s a matter of giving the chosen content added meaning.
Out of a fast-flowing river of news, curators are the zen-like bears, sitting amid the chaos, selectively plucking out the juiciest, shiniest salmon and then explaining which bits to eat.¹
